I hope your exploration leads you to find pieces of yourself you didn’t know you had, and I hope the journey heals scars you never knew were there.

Adventure is essential to feeling alive - it pushes us into situations beyond our control where we discover new passions and perspectives. While I didn't always have the means to travel far, I learned to find adventure by exploring my own city in unique ways.

Financial constraints and insufficient research are common barriers, but I believe adventure begins in the planning phase. The real magic emerges when plans take unexpected turns during your journey.

My message resonates most with beginners who have the means to travel but struggle to make time for it. Many fear that pursuing adventure means neglecting responsibilities at home, while others simply follow well-worn tourist paths without doing deeper research. I focus on finding meaningful intersections between travel, outdoor activities, and creative exploration while maintaining mindfulness and sustainability.

When traveling, I emphasize the importance of authentic experiences that support local communities. Rather than contributing to the broader tourism economy, I encourage giving back to individuals who make each destination special. Through adventure, I hope people discover unknown parts of themselves and find healing they didn't know they needed.

The first step to living more adventurously can be as simple as breaking from your routine - whether that's finally booking your dream trip or camping in your backyard.

Building your travel plan from scratch

I think using Tiktok as a last measure is good or a source of inspiration. I think it's often been flooded with more tourists than there are people that live there. When I travel I try to experience the most authentic experience possible, all while still acknowledging I'm a visitor and respecting the culture. Try reading some books for some inspiration. We've done this for exploring Hawaii and the pacific coast. There is something about the intention and patience behind writing a book that is so sweet and enduring.

Try to build into your plan some spontaneity.

If a trip feels like it's way too expensive for the time frame you're going, be okay with accepting it as it's not the best time to go.

Packing

Use packing cubes! Here are my favorites

Research the weather. The amount of times I've avoided this, and accidentally traveled during hurricane season is insane. My family likes to make jokes I only travel during natural disasters lol.

Travel with a little portable microfiber towel. No matter if it's a city trip, or a beach trip or a hiking trip this little towel has always come in handy.

My travel beliefs

I believe certain places call to us for a reason. I don’t know where our deepest urges come from, but I do believe they start as little tickles. The universe, I believe, offers catalytic moments that spark movement and growth, constantly presenting opportunities for us to reach our fullest potential.

Stripped of the easy option to stay put, I we have to continue asking ourselves:

What excites me right now?

All other things ignored, what fills me with energy?
